Whitehead-Hancock enters third century of business

Late 1800s Charles Whitehead started a plumbing business in the back of a grocery store on St. Clair Street near the present-day location of Good Shepherd gymnasium

Late 1850s Business moved to the old train depot on Broadway

1970 The long-running business relocated to its current location at 417 W. Second Street.

1930s Charles Hancock went to work for CharlesWhitehead

1940s Charles Hancock purchased the business from CharlesWhitehead

1957 Charles Hancock's wife, Dorothy Hancock, and a son, C.M. "Hank" Hancock, took over the business when Charles Hancock passed away

1976 Mike and Pat Hancock, twin sons of Charles Hancock, joined the business with their brother

1990 Pat Hancock and his wife Susan Hancock became sole owners of the business

1990s Joe and Jeff Hancock, sons of Pat and Susan Hancock, started working for Whitehead-Hancock
